le caveau wine shop

I discovered a little gem while running errands during lunch last week: Le Caveau.  It's a small wine shop not far from my job.  The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about European wines.  He carefully explained how minerals in the soil add a depth of flavor to the grapes. Whoa. The guy was an oenophile genius.

I left with two bottles of wine that he personally recommended {5th photo}: The one on the left is a muscadet that "pairs well with oysters" and the marsannay rose' is actually a pinot noir -- my favorite red wine. Can't wait to try them!
